On Being INFP (27 December 2009)

you call me
lady swan
from a flock of ducks
dearest one percent

it is within my profile
that i disbelieve
i cannot believe
doing so would be a
presumption
i am no better
being part of one percent
still makes me part
of something bigger
id est:
approximately one of
six point seven
times ten
to the seventh power

i love how psychology
can explain
this air of sadness
my obsession with human connection
aversion to conflict
painfully
however truthfully
calling me
paralyzed humanoid
i relish the compliments
such as
lyrical artist
and
meticulously oblivious

its almost cute
endearing
how easily
one could understand
me
and the way i tick
merely by reading a profile
but the fun part is
that though you may understand
that i have this internal world
you will never understand
what it entirely consists of

i must be a masochist
on some level
i must enjoy this self-inflicted pain
or i would discontinue the act
because the amount of psychological
turmoil
i bestow upon myself
is practically ludicrous
but yet it continues
it keeps me up at night
it is the dissection
of every single piece of information
that enters my brain
EVERY SINGLE PIECE
that enters via
eyes
ears
nose
mouth
by touch
et al
no wonder i seek refuge
no wonder i sought the ultimate escape
but like i said
i must be a masochist
because i didn't finish the job

Grace and Coriz, I love you both so much. Grace I wish that we could set up couches in the shape of a hot tub and ...achem...and laugh and ...yeah. Miss!

So much Peace!
Mary (the INTP-dang it! One letter off)

grace. fascinating. "meticulously oblivious." brilliant portmanteau of detail & nonexistence/limbo.
